Hunting and fishing has been a way of life for Co-Host Fred and Host Greg Abbas. His father Fred, (Michigan's #1 all time trophy whitetail hunter with the most record book entries), introduced him to the great outdoors at a very young age. Greg is an honest, sincere, down to earth host who people respect and relate to very well. He is a six time Michigan State Turkey Calling Champion, a two time Deer Calling and Rattling Champion, and a professional full time guide with numerous trophy deer and turkey entries in the record books, including the Michigan State record turkey taken with a bow. Greg is known for his hunting prowess and for rewriting the books on hunting tactics. He and his father create their own cutting edge hunting tactics that they have shared with the public through their hunting videos and their nationally given seminars for years. Fred and Greg share their hunting knowledge with the viewer on A-Way Outdoors through their many on hunt tips and game plans. A-Way Outdoors takes the viewer on exciting over the shoulder hunting and fishing adventures from across the U.S. and Canada. Fred and Greg also invite friends along in pursuit of fish and game as well, so that they too can share their knowledge with the audience. A-Way Outdoors will bring the viewer along on a variety of exciting hunting and fishing adventures including deer, bear, turkey, elk, hog, waterfowl, salmon, walleye, and more. April finds Fred and Greg scouting for and hunting wild turkey in Texas and Michigan while June finds the A-Way crew in Alberta, Canada in search of the elusive spring black bear. Walleyes also run thick this month so the viewer is invited along for these tasty game fish. As August rolls around the Salmon start to congregate in large schools on Lake Michigan and enter the streams in September and the caribou are targeted during their migration. Fall black bear in Ontario are also starting to fatten up for the winter and the elk are bugling in Idaho both of which Team A-Way targets. As October rolls around, it's time to take on America's #1 game, the highly prized whitetail deer. This is where team A-Way spends a lot of time and film as most hunters are always looking for that one tip that will help them to be a successful whitetail hunter. The viewer is guaranteed to walk away with new useful knowledge that will help him/her on their next trip to the outdoors.
